A rainbow serpent in the flames

A working and biding spell to call upon a Mbei-tata spirit.

The mbey tata is a spirit of flame, wich could by mistake give a beginner to think about a literal flame and fire, or a correspondence with animality and raw expansivity. More or less, yes, but when taliking with fire spirits I think many are difficult and seem violent and agressive for the fact they are extremely noble and don’t want to be mistaken as pets or anything like – I’ve been seeing that spirits with great willpower are a little harder to call and to work at first, but become loyal and would do real great things just to honor their friendship. In a world of clowns who do their taling and clow show just to distract the attentions to their emptyness, fire spirits tend to be a little lonely by these days, but always are for a talk with the people they look uppon.

So, if you are going to call upon some of them, call for astral and mind cleaning and for guidance of the confused souls, only. If you want to destroy someone, you gonna get burn’d!¹

The spell in very simple, in fact.
In a day that has rained, light a double colored candle, wich represents the communication with the world of encarnated to the spiritual. I used a yellow and green, wich ius linked to the saint whose guides the process of raining and transformation and stay hald time has a rainbow and half as a snake.
For a incense, I do prefer to make a ember and throw some rosemary, but used a solid incense too. I like to use many matches as the spirits like the looks of the burst of flames, throw that to burn in the pire.
The first thing is to look to the flames, when I started to blow the coal and flames emerged I gave a very calm and focused look and the thing that was most aparent in the first was a rainbow with a serpent dancing in front of him.  The serpent become bigger and the colors af the rainbown formed a beautiful pattern arround his neck.
I can still sense his presence, but was a lot faster and subtle that I could expect even the spiritual cleaning was visual. Next week, although, I have an obligation to the spirit and a acessory ritual. Let’s see how that goes.

Peace irmãos e irmãs! Axé!

¹I did this ritual because here at home we receive a lot of donations of clothes and I tought would be nice to call upon the spirit to clean them from previous energies to make their way to people who will nock on my door asking for a piece of cloth.
For that, I gave the more elaborate one to the spirits and will commit to use it a time or two in festivals or while performing rituals of fire.

The Cerrado Plains Big Quartet – Working with elemental spirits in a south american context

I had some problems working with elementals when starting to practice Chaos Magick to a long time until I was going in a mushroom and had a formidable orientation about where to look when thinking about a spirit that could embody a series of natural events. Most of us here in Brasil hear histories about the folklore, but in a way that turns the knowledge behind the guardians of nature and mischievous black kids smoking pipes a relic of a less civilized, more ruralized past. No sir, they are out there – well, some of at least.

For the Salamanders wich we have in lots here, but nothing that resembles, comes the Mbei-Tatá (in native Tupi-Guarani “a thing of fire”, “snake of fire”), an autoctonous legend who was spread among the villages after the process of Portuguese conquest who talks about a snake made of fire, or a flying snake with flaming eyes that causes and sometimes settles the fire sprending in the woods. Great, a spirit related to the fire that is pretty common in those savanah ecosystems. Found one!

I’ll give a more detailed explanation about one of those, and will be preparing a ritual. Nice nice nice!

A Spoken Poetry – Ode to the lovers

By me and BananaSolar

I would laugh, until the bland grace would calm down in my belly, our astral maps would begin to talk on their own, and I would try to be quite serious out of nowhere, to disguise the silliness … then you would laugh, I think. Our black flame suns would call for each other, and my mind would slide through your pupils curious to know, not in a hurry to find anything that would end this mystery of looking, a little anxious to find us … I would feel the space suddenly Of your silence to admire … not the silly girl and concerned to please, but all the delicate wonders that life reveals itself, like an eternal woman stripping herself … caprices to lovers of their simpler tastes

what taste it was?

From a pitanga. Perhaps the one that in acidic soils of a warm reality that could manage and generate much less than the sweet and reddish pulp, moist like the kiss and soft as the touch to which the subjects are subject to feel the heat of the meat and the delight of the Passion, perfumed with ether

What perfume it had?

Of forest, reforested with the innumerable invasions, resilient in the dust that remains, laughing at each other in the dewy and hot perspiring, insane reality that the wind, sober or drunken, without regret, despite the density of their bowels

Weird?

Yes. Guts. When the beast is pinned and opened by voracious passion, it jumps upward: heart racing, a lung tired of hyperventilating the anxieties of the encounter, a stomach full of butterflies. From the inside out, the body shakes, from the bowels to the blood that warms and weaves the epidermis that shivers as the fire inside becomes the outside.

From the innards, strange, to the smile of two strangers who find themselves in strange conditions.

What conditions are these?

Nothing ideal … pathetic, would be serious if it were not the scratched groans of the cats climbing on the roof, which gave a whole tone of doubt, whether it was day at night, or night of sun … but, what the heck?

A Tropical approach to Chaos

Here begins my pages about xamanism, wich by many reasons have a lot in common with the brazillian popular rezas e benzimentos (tradicional prayings due in a particular form of repetitions and sometimes with the aid of a rosary/tradicional energy healing and protective spells using powerfull herbs common in the country), in majority performed by old woman whose was though the reza by a elderly rezadeira¹ from the previous generation. This form as we see nowadays emerged as a mixing of catholic and indigenous miths, philosophy, form of magical practices and a lot of new roots to gasp uppon.
Mainly a rural country like Brazil was till the turn of the millenium, I would been a preacher or a holy prayer to call upon the spirits and the divine forces of heaven and earth to soothe the pain of the childreen of the local system, give a strengh they need to fulfill their missions on land and go on, happy. Thanks to the need for power and progress in cost of desctruction, no.
I was born in midlle of the process, when the farm and the city would somethime in a future become a reason of conflict with severe losts to the familiar countryside of Pindorama lands. Exodus to the city to hide in tall buildings and live the fear of night passing by day and nothing knowing if your are really a bird meant to a cage – a wild animal found surrounded by a desert of sugar cane. I think that’s not the way our celestial father and mother want us to take on, so I decided to look upon the old ones knowledge to become a holy guardian for my own like many have done by this time, I’ve been informed.
It’s time to care about the people, pray for them and to teach and guide them to look upon the earth where grows many delightfull fruits and leafs of the most beutifull poetry by taste to the weeds that heal and energize. It’s time to care about my people.

And a week later, when I was bottling some rock-smasher (a plant that has healing properties to liver and kidney, mostly for pebles) tea…

“- Hey, man… (seems all fucked up)
– What have you been passing trough, my child?
– Liver and kidney… probably.
– Ok , drink this tea I made. I allready had in mind that you would come to seek for help.
– Thanks, man.
– Oxalá bless you, Obaluaiê heal you, axé my brother.”

After a little praying to the old mighty gods and a astral cleaning using the herbs that grow in the country, the boy is back in the game.
Deus te criou, Deus te cuidou, Deus te cura.

From that point, I had a ilumination in my magical practices. I then threw away all my old rusty archaic magical objetcs, destroyed a lot and start’d to pray and to praise the old gods and the ancestors whom performed magick long before my existence – even returning as myself, without my knowledge, but to trial the way of the healing, spirit talking and demand breaking of the tropical supernatural ecosystem of information.
